What is the most money you'd ever spend on a concert ticket?
I've spent $56.75 on a Nine Inch Nails concert ticket that's coming up in August. But...it's all worth it. It'll be loads of fun.
We were all in the van heading towards our destination that would turn out to be the best night of my life... so far. As we pulled into our parking spot, I noticed a lot of stripes, black, gray, and red clothing everywhere while there was a whole handful of emo hair.
"Oh boy," I thought. "Here we go with the crazy fans."
We got out of the car and went to the front of the line. Everyone was all emo while I was bright with my orange and teal clothing. I counted down the seconds until the doors would open, until I'd be closer to him. Way closer.
"Open the doors," I heard a guy say.
Thump, thump, thump. My heart was pounding in my chest, adrenaline running through my body. All I wanted to do was get in there and rock out.
Finally, the doors were open. We were inside. Our ticket stubs were given back to us. I start running towards the front. It was glowing, the horrible barricade keeping me away from him, that is.
"Stop running!!!" was all I heard.
I turn around and see her walking SO slow.
"Come on Colleen!!!" I yell. I grabbed her by the arm and drug her up to the front.
People were filing in now. It became clearer that I was really up front, against the barricade. It was clear that I was going to have to push against that barricade with over 1,000 pounds on top of me. But it would all be worth it. I was able to see My Chem closer than ever before.
The first band, Drive By, came on. All I could think of was how close I was. I was so amazed that I didn't even realize that the second band, Taking Back Sunday, came on. The whole place erupted as soon as they threw their white masks into the audience. Whoever caught those masks must have felt pretty special. What they don't know is that I was way more special than them. Reason being is that the singer, Adam Lazzara, noticed me. When I say he noticed me, I mean he NOTICED me.
Throughout the show, all I noticed was how Adam kept looking in my general direction. At one point that I realized he was looking directly at me. It wasn't until later that I fully noticed that he was mentally having sex with me on stage and fully enjoying it.
Finally, Taking Back Sunday gets off the stage. This little girl next to me is super excited. I warn her that she isn't going to last throughout the show because she's a wimpy little girl and the crowd is super tough when it comes to Gerard. She didn't listen to me. As soon as the sound check for My Chem was finished, she was being tortured. I only saw her arm hanging onto the fence. Finally, right before My Chem came on, she was gone. Poor girl.
There was a giant force that came from the back and the side, ending directly in the middle. It felt like the shoving didn't even touch me. The adrenaline over came my body. I morphed into a completely different person, the true me. I have any worries. I didn't care that my boobs were being crushed or that I couldn't feel my knees. I didn't care that my head was bent back in an awkward position, that my hair was being pulled out, or that I was super hot. All of that didn't matter. He was there in front of me.
Halfway through the show I decided to stop looking at Gerard as much because I felt I was neglecting the other guys. I look at Ray and his long, poofy hair is bouncing everywhere. I look at Bob and..."Omigosh!!! He has longer hair!!" was all I could think. Frank was rocking out, as usual. Finally, I see Mikey. He got super attractive. He had a massive amount of eyeliner on and he was wearing a shirt that said "Mikey f***ing Way" on it. I decide to watch him for a little bit. I switch back over to Gerard for about five minutes. When I decide to look at Mikey again, I notice he was looking at me.
"Maybe he's not really looking at me. There are others around me," I thought. That's when I decided to smile at him. I am 99% sure that he gave me a smurk in return and then looked away.
You would think that the only highlight of the night was how amazingly awesome the show was. Nope. I cannot even remember all of the times the security guard had to stand up on the platform in front of me to grab the body surfers. That meant I got his man stuff in my face a lot!!!
After the show, I couldn't feel my legs. My knees were stiff, my hair was a hot mess, and I was uberly thirsty. That all didn't matter to me. That was the best day of my life. It was the best day in the time period of my birth until May 6th at 11:30 p.m.
